As well as being of superior image quality to traditional 35mm film prints, it also means no more scratched, damaged or jumping images and a greater dynamic range with surround sound. Digital projectors also allow the screening of modern 3D films. Metro is currently equipped with 2 cinemas in this format with more cinemas coming soon.

The length of time any film will play at Metro Cinemas is based on the amount of business the film generates, contractual obligations and time of the year. Basically, the more popular a film is with patrons, the longer it will play. There is no way to predict exactly how long a movie will play. Use our website to get information on what films will be playing up to five days in advance.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to play every film released. You can expect to see a mix of mainstream and selected quality art-house movies all year round and we do focus on kids and family titles over the school holiday periods.
